Tesla gave us a bit of a scare on Tuesday. We woke up and she wasn't home. Not a huge deal considering she's a cat and can get in and out of the windows whenever she wants but she didn't come home at all on Tuesday. She didn't come home to eat or sleep. She was just gone. Brett and I were both really beginning to worry. I called the council to see if she had been turned in with no luck, so I gave them our details and waited patiently for her return. Finally we went to bed hoping that she would be home in the morning and around 10:30 pm Brett wakes me up saying that Tesla's come back. Whew. We were really worried because we're moving this weekend and didn't know what we were going to do if she hadn't come back yet. Well, needless to say we've been giving her lots of  attention just in case her running away had something to do with jealousy of the baby. I guess it just takes something like this to make you realize how much a cat can mean to you. We're so glad she's home again.

Nothing really new to report but I've been taking LOTS of pictures of Chucky and thought I'd share some of them. Enjoy!

Also, there is a new feature at the top of the blog; enter your email address and you'll be notified when I post a new entry.

Tesla decided that she wanted to sleep between Brett and Chucky.

She's been smiling and laughing so much!

Busy Week

We've had a busy week of celebrating my 25th birthday and getting things sorted for our new house.

We looked at a cute two bedroom house in Morningside last weekend and decided to apply. We got a call this week that we had been approved and that we could move in anytime after the 28th. So we'll move in next Saturday (March 3). As soon as we get moved in and settled I'll post pictures and videos.

We also finally got our cat, Tesla, back. She was a little freaked out when we first brought her in the house because she'd been in the car for about two hours but she soon relaxed and is adjusting well to her new surroundings. And she seems to really like Chucky but we still don't let her sleep with us because she might "steal the baby's breath."

Brett bought me an awesome new sewing machine for my birthday and gave it to me as soon as we woke up, so Chucky and I went to the fabric store and bought lots of new sewing goodies in the morning and then we had dinner at a really good Thai place with lots of friends. I've barely had time to do any real sewing but I can't wait to figure out all the new features!

Things are going well here even if we are crazy busy. We're enjoying being back and missing everyone back in Washington.

We've actually begun to settle. Today is Brett's first day back at work and mine and Chucky's first day alone.

Debbie (Brett's mom) picked us up from the airport in Brisbane when we landed and brought us to Morningside, where we're temporarily staying until we find a place, we dropped off our bags, showered and then headed up to the Sunshine coast to see some of Brett's family. We swam at the pool and relaxed all day. The next day we went shopping with Brett's mom and she bought some summer clothes for Chucky because it's so hot here. The day after we came back to Brisbane and have been trying to get settled ever since. We've looked at a few places but haven't found anything we really like yet. We have a few more inspections this weekend so hopefully we find something we like soon.

Chucky was perfect on the plane - she slept most of the way and didn't have any trouble with her ears. She's adjusting well to the heat and is happy :) She's even started to smile/laugh at us when we make funny faces.

We miss everyone in America.

Lots of love,

Moving Day

Today is the day we head back to Oz. Our flight leaves Seatac at 5:45. I'll be posting again when we get settled in Bris.
