Our weekend was actually quite laid back and restful.
On Friday Brett went to work as usual but Chucky and I went
on a little bush walk at Mt. Glorious with Dale, Jody, Jenni, and Leighton. It
was beautiful and wonderful to get out of the house and city and into the
trees.
On Saturday, Brett and I got up at 5:30 as usual (because of
our adorable alarm clock) and got out into the garden to finally put the plants
we bought at the market (actually Kahlee bought them for me for my birthday!:))
in the ground. The day was hot so we got out and started planting early and by
the time we finished we really wanted to get cool. We have a pool relatively
close so we packed up Chucky and went on a walk to the pool. Chucky didn’t
seem to either enjoy the cool pool water or dislike it. She just kind of sat
there with an indifferent expression on her face. After the pool we went home
and relaxed.
Sunday was more of the same. We hung around the house, did
chores but also went to Bunnings (the Australian Home Depot or Lowes) because
we’re planning to build our own out door dinning set, tv stand and coffee table
with many more ideas to come.
The garden before we put our plants in the ground.
This larva was about 3 inches long and super fat. It turns out it's a rhino beetle larva.
They were everywhere in the dirt.
Awesome.
The garden now.
I loved this post. Thanks :o). Looks like your getting all settlled. What a great place. If the larva is that big how big is the beetle? Whoa. Talk to you soon love and miss you all. Grandma.
